Intern Opportuntiy: Marketing/Educational Development
Hours: Flexible, 60 up to 240 hours, stipend paid

Summary: We are a very fast paced, fun office, and desire another talented and driven individual to join us in our mission. Teatro del Pueblo is a non-profit theatre company, built to promote cultural pride in the Latino community, and cultural diversity in the arts. This internship is also an excellent way to learn all the backstage workings of a nonprofit theatre company, and make connections with the St. Paul/Minneapolis Theatre and nonprofit community.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the creation of publicity materials and the distribution of promo.
- Aiding in the commencement of the new Pueblocation, Teatro’s newsletter.
- Assist with outreach, making cold calls, follow-up calls, etc to help with marketing educational shows.
- Potentially accompany performances and assist in-school productions if necessary.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate student
Experience: Previous work with non-profit organizations/theatre recommended, but not required. A background or interest in the arts, theatre, and/or Latino culture also a plus, as well as knowledge in marketing and educational programming.
Skills/Knowledge/Ability: Excellent writing skills. Ability to work independently and handle responsibility. Very organized. MAC knowledge helpful.

Volunteers
We are currently looking for volunteers for three big upcoming events in our season.
1) Real Women Have Curves: May 9-29, 2008
2) Flint Hills International Children's Festival: May 31 & June 1, 2008, (9am-6pm each day; Rice Park by Landmark Center/Ordway)
For Real Women Have Curves we are looking for Ushers/Box Office assistance for all performances. By ushering you can see this play, which inspired the award winning HBO film, for FREE!!! For Flint Hills, we are looking for volunteers to cover various shifts at our activity booths over the course of these two weekends. Shifts may be 2, 3, 4 hours-however much time you can give. Activities include working with children and making our traditional paper flowers, or just helping spread the word of Teatro. Also by volunteering, you will receive TWO FREE TICKETS to either Real Women Have Curves, (Cinco de Mayo volunteers), or Vision-es New Works Series, (Flint Hills volunteers).
