Teatro del Pueblo DYI: Design Your own Internship
10 - 20 hours per week
Unpaid
Open to all undergraduate and graduate students
Teatro del Pueblo is seeking passionate individuals to join our team of artists and arts administrators. As an intern, you will gain experience with both the artistic and administrative aspects of a non-profit theatre company. What else? It’s up to you!
We work with our interns to create meaningful opportunities related to their interests – be it in marketing, acting, teaching or dramaturgy.
Here are some examples of current internship tracks:
Management and Marketing: Every year, Teatro del Pueblo’s educational touring shows reach 4,000 individuals across the state of Minnesota. As an intern, your job would be to help coordinate our touring season and market for our main stage season.
New Play Development: Teatro del Pueblo is committed to staging new works by emerging Latino playwrights. Our annual Visiones reading series and Political Theatre Festivals are prime examples of this. As an intern, you would be involved in every stage of script development from the initial submissions to the final staging.
Community and Social Justice Theatre: Teatro del Pueblo has always prided itself on forwarding art for social change. We continue to work with students, community members and other arts organizations to develop new theatre games and pieces. As an intern, you will get the opportunity to help with our Arts Literacy project, theatre residencies and Women of Color Theatrical Training Institute.
Teatro del Pueblo promotes Latino culture through the creation and presentation of performing arts. Teatro develops and supports Latino artists, provides educational opportunities for all to experience Latino culture, and promotes cross-cultural dialogue.
